Notes from June 5th meeting

The meeting ended the other night with some chaos as our children were melting down, so I don't think we came away with clear assignments.

We are planning a Block Party for July 12th. We decided to begin collecting signatures for the street redesign at the same time that we are collecting signatures for the block party. At the block party we will try to provide more detailed pictures/models of what we are trying to do and will continue to
collect signatures at the block party and beyond.

Next Meeting: Thursday, June 5th at 6:30

Our next meeting is set for Thursday, June 5th at 6:30 at Kathy Tholin's, 2423 N. Albany.

Meeting with CDOT

We had an informal meeting with a representative from CDOT today (May 21st). They were very positive about the proposal.

Great Meeting with Alderman Rey Colon

We had a great meeting with 35th Ward Alderman Rey Colon last night.

We showed off our new design rendering and discussed the goals and vision of the project. Rey was very enthusiastic about the project and made several helpful suggestions.

Revised! Next Meeting: April 2, 6:30pm

The next meeting will be held on April 2nd at 6:30 PM at Kathy Tholin's, 2423 N. Albany.

We have met with TJ, and architect who lives on Albany about doing some drawings for us. He has said that renderings of our ideas will should be available by then.

I am attaching a flyer which I will make copies of on Thursday. Can someone help me distribute them?

Notes from January 22nd Meeting

Since the meeting, John E and I/Julie spoke with TJ, an architect on our block and Tom Brock, another architect from IIT, and they agreed to work on the drawings for us. We will be getting together with TJ in the next week to discuss it.

Meeting Notes January 22nd

After introductions and a recap of previous activities we opened it up for discussion of ideas for the street. We looked at the drawings from the block party to generate discussion. The following ideas came up:

Making the street two ways
Getting rid of the stop light at the end

Notes from August 21st meeting

Traffic study:

Friday August 3rd between 7:30AM-8:30AM:
35 drive throughs (many were fast moving)
Fewer than 5 locals
8 bikes

Tuesday August 21st from 4:00PM-6:00PM:
60 drive throughs (16 fast, 39 speed limit, 5 slow)
23 parked
5 were parked and drove away
19 bikes

It was also noted that there were 70 parking spaces on the street.

Lauren agreed to do another study from 2:30-4:30 on a weekday to see if traffic is different in the middle of the day and heavier when school starts.

Meeting August 21st at 6:00 PM

This is a reminder that our next meeting on the Albany Home Zone will be Tuesday, August 21st at 6:00 PM in Craig Ludington's backyard, 2446 N. Albany.

We will be reporting back on our door knocking and traffic study and planning for the block party. The block party petitions are in, so we should be all set for September 8th. If you haven't done your traffic study, there is still time to do it, so get it done by Tuesday.
